eric fleischauer is an artist, curator, and educator living in Chicago. Working across various mediums, fleischauer utilizes conceptually-driven production strategies to be read as an aestheticized form of media theory and criticism examining the nuance of technology’s pervasive influences. His work has been exhibited internationally at venues including The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Interstate Projects (NYC), Microscope Gallery (NYC), Hallwalls (Buffalo NY), Corcoran Gallery of Art (DC), the Kunstmuseum Bonn (Germany), MMX (Berlin), The Brighton Photo Biennial (UK) – with solo exhibitions at Document, threewalls, and the Gene Siskel Film Center.

fleischauer's projects have received critical acclaim in publications such as The New York Times, artforum.com, The Washington Post, rhizome.org, Afterimage Journal, and The Chicago Reader, Art21.org, Art F City, and ArtSlant. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Pittsburgh Filmmakers, and the Jane Adams Hull House Museum Art Lending Library, among others. fleischauer received an MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a BS in Communications from SUNY Fredonia. Currently he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Film, Video, New Media, and Animation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
